Successful build and install of gcc 3.4.5

Other comments: Installed alongside gcc 4.0.2 which is standard for this 
distribution. Accepting the default prefix of /usr/local was not necessarily 
a good idea as some applications require a later version of the libraries 
(fixed by inserting /usr/lib before /usr/local/lib in /etc/ld.so.conf).
