Our procedure is that you need two people with appropriate write
privileges to approve a reversion, and I haven't seen any indication
that there are two such people.

I have just returned from a week essentially away; please give me some
time to catch up, and to look at this bug.  Thanks for the analysis
regarding the cause; that should help.
