You would need to use google to find the gcc documentation that  
describes this in detail.  If you do that, you should find http:// 
gcc.gnu.org/install/

Also, if you google around, you can find additional resources like  
http://www.mega-tokyo.com/osfaq2/index.php/GCC%20Cross-Compiler which  
I had never seen before, but seems to be the type of thing that might  
just be what you're looking for.
