I was just tyring to find out what those "wonderfull scripts do...
and came already basically to the same as you.

Just for reassurance:
$ uname -r
8.2.0
$ type uname
uname is hashed (/usr/bin/uname)
$ /usr/share/libtool/config.guess
powerpc-apple-darwin8.2.0
Still no seven involved.
