Perhaps we can use --param ggc-min-expand=X --param ggc-min-heapsize=Y
options? I've tried here:
http://gcc.gnu.org/ml/gcc/2005-05/msg00967.html
and got some interesting results which might be more similar to the
machines with low memory.
