doubts in adding new instruction

hi,
     i  like to analyze the flow of gcc. so i have changed the arm.md file.     for example in add immediate instruction, i like to support immediate value of 10 bit. but the previous version supports only 8 bit immediate value. i changed the template format to support for this and build the gcc one more time. but the building process ends with one error, like wrong number to operand 2. where will be the corresponding change for this.

do u have any document for this..
