Some do. Some don't.
Missed optimizations should be given a priority based on their
severeness. Your bug looks like it could be bumped a bit because
it is not just a missed optimization but a more-or-less latent
real bug.

Even if it doesn't say it's high priority in bugzilla, that doesn't
mean there isn't anyone interested in fixing it. Apparently Uros is
already on it.
