unrecognized option '-no-cpp-precomp' on Mac OS X (10.4.3)

I have built gcc-4.1-20051209 successfully and while using it to try to
compile Python-2.4.2, I get this error:

Using grep, I see stage1 flags that use this option.  However, the on- 
line documentation did not
seem to have this option in it -- at least not in the section dealing  
with command line options
for the CPP.

Any ideas where it might have gone?  Is it an "internal" option?
