You don't need a real account, just login as any wikiword.
I think you are probably trying to login with a non-wikiword as the
login name.

I can't really debug this php crap anymore, which is why i really want
to move to the new wiki software which is maintainable.

Unfortunately, this too is waiting the new sourceware.
