for ROCK Linux I've developed SubMaster to solve this problem. Right now
it's more or less a proof-of-concept hack and in fact I'm looking for
someone who is willing to implement it "the right way". Also, I've only
implemented those features which where required for the specific needs and
size of ROCK Linux. (this month we had >300 patches going over SubMaster so
far).
