by the way, for the record, I am an assembly language
programmer with a lot of experience, and am quite
confident that I can beat any compiler by a significant
margin on any significant code. But that does not mean
I think others or me should be writing in asm, exept
in very rare cases. Gone are the days of my youth when
I wrote an entire multi-tasking operating system with
all the tools (for Honeywell) all in assembly :-)
