latest autotools still can't handle libstdc++-v3

I have a patch for the dg-iconv test, but can't regenerate the files:

configure.ac: 7: `automake requires `AM_CONFIG_HEADER', not `AC_CONFIG_HEADER'
aclocal.m4: 373: `jm_MAINTAINER_MODE' is obsolete; use `AM_MAINTAINER_MODE'
automake: configure.ac: `PACKAGE' not defined in `configure.ac'
testsuite/Makefile.am:55: GLIBCXX_TEST_ABI does not appear in AM_CONDITIONAL
testsuite/Makefile.am:65: GLIBCXX_TEST_WCHAR_T does not appear in AM_CONDITIONAL
testsuite/Makefile.am:125: GLIBCXX_TEST_ABI does not appear in AM_CONDITIONAL

are the automake errors.
