Status of for Argonaut ARC port?

I personally am only interested in this port in the general sense
that I try to periodically test as many embedded targets as possible
to see if they build and can be tested on a simulator.  Your
assessment matches with my memory and I have no problem with it
being deprecated if no one is actively trying to improve the
situation.   I have not tried to build it in multiple releases.
