Lots of stuff with this sort-of worked.  Lots of stuff didn't;
the pr masters could point you at examples.

I certainly would support removing all variable sized types from GNU C.
There are too many language corner cases that have *never* worked, and
this feature is not useful enough to justify working them all out.

I will admit that Kenner is right, that it isn't really possible to
implement this well completely within the front end.  But that only
says that some support should be in the optimizers for this; it does
not say that the C front end should support enable access to it.
