Perhaps you're ignoring the 3600 lines of tree-level folding
in builtins.c? We do QUITE A LOT of reasoning with builtins,

I'm about done with the attacks here. You clearly don't
know what's going on with the optimizers. You certainly
can't begin to quantify the effects of the choices we've
made wrt your code until you finish the front-end port.
If you want anyone to help you, you'll have to quit this.
