It's much worse than that.  The cases are:

  (1) The offset contains only global variables.  Easy enough to
      gimplify and get the correct result.

  (2) The offset contains local variables.  We'd need to find the
      correct SSA version of each varible.

  (3) The offset contains non-local variables from a parent function.
      There's absolutely no way to retrieve these.  The mapping into
      the frame object was thrown away after lowering.

Given (2) and (3), I'm going to have SRA punt on any variable
sized object.
