Fix problem with constant modulus

I'll try to look into it.  However, I need to rebuild with -gstabs.
Gdb 6.0 dumps core with gcc 3.5 when dwarf2 debugging info is used.
This is apparently fixed in 6.1 but nobody has ported it to hppa-linux.
