Stealing a quote from JMS:  if this warning is enabled in -Wall, the
entire C programming community will descend on your office, drag you
into the street, slap two telephone poles together, and crucify you.
And I will personally hand them the nails.

Kean's patch is a good one.  Please, let's use it.
