PR 10877 is not a gcc bug at all except for that the requirement for the
version of binutils have to documented so any one can do that but I do 
not
know what is now the earliest version of binutils that does not have 
this bug.
I change the summary of the bug to reflect this because there are has 
been some
misconception that this is a gcc bug.
