Yes. This didn't get into 3.3 because it was too late, but it would be nice if 
Geoff could pull it over from mainline. This _is_ important. (And I don't 
just say that because it affects boost and because I had to work around it 
today -- we happened to deliver a version of our library that can't be 
compiled in some configurations due to this bug :-( )

This makes -Winline useless. I'd say it is important.

Yes, this should be easy to fix. Anyone with global privs should just be able 
to commit it to the branch as well.
