This one was discussed during the 3.3 cycle.  Please do not deprecate

Ian Dall did the most recent work.  Maybe Ian would like to be listed 
as the maintainer in the docs?  (I've CC'd him on this message.)

Ian's latest message to gcc-patches seems to be:

...and those changes were checked in.
