strange error of "multiple definition"

Hello, 

I am trying to compile an application for palmos with m68k-palmos-gcc (gcc
version 2.95.3-kgpd 20010315 (release)) and I got a strange error:

the command:
m68k-palmos-gcc $(CFLAGS) $(LIBS) client2.o comPrimit.o CltChkTools.o
CommonChkTools.o -o client2 

gives:
CltChkTools.o: In function `fillCand':
CltChkTools.c:29: multiple definition of `fillCand'
client2.o:CltChkTools.c:29: first defined here

I would like you to tell me wether it is an error form me or a bug in the compiler.
