[tree-ssa] bootstrap failure related to libmudflap

On i386-unknown-freebsd4.8 the current tree-ssa branch fails to bootstrap
for me with the following error mode:

  checking whether ln -s works... (cached) yes
  checking ... /sw/test/gcc/cvs-ts/libmudflap/configure: 1696:
               Syntax error: Bad fd number
  gmake[1]: *** [i386-unknown-freebsd4.8/libmudflap/Makefile] Error 1
  gmake[1]: Leaving directory `/files/pfeifer/O'
  gmake: *** [bootstrap] Error 2

This seems to be due to the following patch:

  2003-06-03  Frank Ch. Eigler  <fche@redhat.com>

        * acinclude.m4: Force "pass_all" deplibs_check_method for libtool
        for x86_64 target. Disable caching for this value.
        * aclocal.m4, configure: Regenerated.

which left the following snippet in libmudflap/configure:

  echo $ac_n "checking ""... $ac_c" 1>&6
  echo "configure:1698: checking " >&5how to recognise dependant libraries,lt_cv_file_magic_cmd='$MAGIC_CMD'
                                   ^^^^^^

His this really been tested? If so, I assume it was using bash, and I
strongly suggest to report this as bug to the bash maintainers.
