    your responsibility to fix it.

Actually, I thought the guidelines say that it's the responsibility in
such a case to *get it fixed*, which is not necessarily the same
thing.  Often a patch in one part of the compiler can uncover a latent
bug in a very different part of the compiler.  It's unreasonable to
require every contributor to have enough knowlege of the compiler to
personally fix a bug in any part of it.
