Because GCC contributors are altruistic fluffy bunnies who believe in
being kind to everyone for long term benefit.

A fine example of just how kind the GCC contributors are.  Putting it
under a license which allows even a dark enemy like SCO to enjoy the
fruits of their labour of love.
