Um, I've been using GCC with SPARC/Solaris for years.  There were no spare
machines/cycles for bootstrapping until three weeks ago.

*shrug*  Take a peek at comment #13.  I got the same error using a
precompiled 3.3 binary as the stage1/bootstrap compiler.  (The plan was to
install the precompiled package, which unfortunately was built (not by me)
with strange options, use it to bootstrap 3.3 from source, then uninstall
the precompiled package.)

It may not be a bug in 3.3 itself, but if it isn't, I'd very much like to
find out what's going wrong.
