ObjC improvements and ObjC++

For the record, I've just created the branch (on the trunk) as follows:

   cvs tag objc-improvements-branchpoint
   cvs tag -b -r objc-improvements-branchpoint objc-improvements-branch

and will start migrating ObjC fixes and new test cases to it.  (I'll 
hold off
on the ObjC++ for now.)  I'll send out a missive when the branch is 
ready for
use by other humans.
