Thanks.  PPC64 is working OK.  Is ppc32 the one giving sporadic
trouble.  I've bootstrapped fine on ppc32 with -fno-strict-aliasing.

The difference in tree dumps between stage1/cc1 and stage2/cc1 on x86
may end up being related.  I'll keep digging.
