Should contrib/test_summary work with joined gcc/binutils/gdb?

I just noticed that in a gcc, binutils, and gdb joint build tree, the
test_summary script picks up gdb's string instead of gcc's for the
subject of the mail report...

notice that the subject of the e-mail is picked up from gdb's version
string rather than gcc's version string...

Any ideas?

Is it a matter of simpy don't do this?
