limit number of errors/warnings for gcc before it gives up.

Hello ,

  I found this question in archive without an answer.
  Can anyone answer it now, or to say it's impossible?

      Hello,
         Can you tell me how to control the number of errors and/or warnings that
      gcc reports before it gives up?
      I have read "GCC Command Options" and have not been able to find this
      information. I  expected to find something like,  -Wall,-e5  for example, to
      limit the number to 5.
