I have successfully built, tested and installed gcc 3.2.2

Compiler version: 3.2.2 
Platform: sparc-sun-solaris2.8
configure flags: --host=sparc-sun-solaris2.8 --with-gnu-as --with-as=/home/urban
/local/sun28/bin/gas --with-gnu-ld --with-ld=/home/urban/local/sun28/bin/gld --e
nable-threads=posix --disable-multilib --disable-nls --enable-libgcj

Build environment:

gcc -v
