I saw that this went in on the 3.3 branch.

Please send libgcj patches to the java-patches list.  Usually us gcj
hackers just skim the gcc-patches list; a libgcj patch that isn't
explicitly marked as such probably won't get noticed.

I guess this one is ok for 3.3, seeing as it is already in, but
I'd really prefer it be implemented a bit differently.
