gcc ultrasparc generates incorrect code at -02. (!?!?)

Ladies & Gentlemen -

Help.

Please lets not flame over this, I'm just looking for data.

I know for isc.org 'Building with gcc is not supported, except, etc'

What version(s?) of gcc is referred to by the tidbit in the subject seen at
"http://www.isc.org/products/BIND/bind9.html"

Details of 'incorrect code'?  As in 'named will provide incorrect results'
or 'I wrote another compiler and I didn't do it that way'?

Anyone?
