Installing GCC: Configuration

Hi Tech,
                    Problem encountered when I installing gcc :

root@sunsvr01 # sh /opt/gcc/configure
Configuring for a sparc-sun-solaris2.8 host.
Created "Makefile" in /opt/gcc_objdir using "mh-frag"
/opt/gcc/configure: cc: not found
*** The command 'cc -o conftest -g   conftest.c' failed.
*** You must set the environment variable CC to a working compiler.
root@sunsvr01 #


Any hint ?
