PR 8146

PR 8146 is the miscompilation of GCC 2.95.3 problem.

My understanding is that there are two possible patches that might
help:

(1) H.J.'s patch:

(2) RTH's patch:

    http://gcc.gnu.org/ml/gcc-patches/2002-08/msg01715.html

Do we know yet which of these (or both, or neither) actually fix the
problem?

My understanding is that (2) cannot easily be ported to the GCC 3.2
patch; Richard, do you have ideas about how to accomplish something
similar?
