GCC: accessing exceptiond from C?

That *is* "full blown C++" - i.e., once I do that, every difference  
between C++ and C automatically applies to my program.

Such as, for example, the fact that I now need to cast void * pointers.  
(Which, frankly, I consider one of C++'s worse ideas.)
