Upgrading RedHat GCC 2.96

Hi Paolo

Thanks for the speedy reply!  I liked your suggstion of using 
RH7.2's gcc - I'm currently running RH7.0.  But while I was looking 
for the more recent RH2.96, I noticed that RedHat have got an rpm 
for gcc3.01 - is there any reason you can think of that it would not 
work on an updated RH7.0 sysytem?  I confess the installation 
instructions looked rather daunting to a newbie like me!
