gcc 3.1-Cygwin+Win98SE: Success

configure identified my system as
i686-pc-cygwin

Configuration options (from <objdir>/gcc/xgcc -v prior to
install):
Configured with: /gcc-3.1/configure --prefix=/usr/local
--with-as=/usr/bin/as --with-ld=/usr/bin/ld --enable-threads=win32
--enable-languages=c,c++,f77 --enable-shared=libstdc++
Thread model: win32
gcc version 3.1


Note: --enable-shared=libstdc++ does not work for Cygwin: libstdc++
is configured to be built as a static library anyway.
