Successful build on Ultrix/VAX (2.95.3)

I believe that I have built 3.0 starting with the native compiler.  You
have to first just build the C compiler.  Then, you can bootstrap all
components.  There might be a few non K&Risms to fix.  These seem to
creep in.  I believe that 3.0.x is the best vintage for vax. There
are quite a few regressions in 3.1.  3.2 is getting more testing so
possibly the problems that crept in will be resolved.  You should
have no trouble bootstrapping 3.0 or the current mainline with
2.95.3.

If you want to build libstdc++-v3, you will need this patch

Yes.  Old vaxen need steroids, large disks, plenty of disk and
swap space, boosts to various kernel parameters.  It takes close to
a month to do a full bootstrap and testsuite run on an old MV2.
