Hello,

Not the latest version, but nevertheless ... BTW, what is status now for
VAX in general? Will it be kicked or not? And if so, when?

Greetings, Bert.

*) vax-dec-ultrix4.3

*) Reading specs from /freeware/gnu-tools/vax/lib/gcc-lib/vax-dec-ultrix4.3/2.95.3/specs
   gcc version 2.95.3 20010315 (release)

   gcc, c++ and fortran.

*) Bootstrapped from 2.8.1

Recipe to build GCC 2.95.3 on Ultrix/VAX:

--> You need to bootstrap from 2.8.1, bootstrapped from 2.7.2.3,
    bootstrapped from native.

--> You need recent binutils; 2.12.1 works.

--> You need large amounts of patience. On a VAXstation 3100 M38, think of
    several days.

If you prefer a prebuilt binary and you trust me, you will find one at
RCSRI's Ultrix Archives (http://starfish.osfn.org/ultrix/).  The
appropriate binutils are also available there.
