I tried to compile openjade (OpenSP-1.5pre8) on HPUX
with gcc3.1 and allways encounter a linker error about
"Duplicate Symbols".

/opt/gcc/gcc-3.1/bin/g++ -ftemplate-depth-17 -o onsgmls nsgmls.o SgmlsEventHandler.o RastEventHandler.o StringSet.o nsgmls_inst.o  ../lib/.libs/libosp.a -lnsl
/usr/ccs/bin/ld: Duplicate symbol "OpenSP::Text::~Text [in-charge]()" in files ../lib/.libs/libosp.a(Entity.o) and ../lib/.libs/libosp.a(Param.o)
/usr/ccs/bin/ld: Duplicate symbol "OpenSP::Text::~Text [not-in-charge]()" in files ../lib/.libs/libosp.a(Entity.o) and ../lib/.libs/libosp.a(Param.o)
/usr/ccs/bin/ld: Duplicate symbol "OpenSP::Text::~Text [in-charge]()" in files ../lib/.libs/libosp.a(Entity.o) and ../lib/.libs/libosp.a(Group.o)
/usr/ccs/bin/ld: Duplicate symbol "OpenSP::Text::~Text [not-in-charge]()" in files ../lib/.libs/libosp.a(Entity.o) and ../lib/.libs/libosp.a(Group.o)
/usr/ccs/bin/ld: Found 4 duplicate symbol(s)
collect2: ld returned 1 exit status
*** Error exit code 1

I experimented with different compiler options, but no luck.
Did the compiler generate the same code for slightly different signatures
or is it a problem with the linker of HP-UX ?

How to catch the problem ?

thomas
