Call me stupid, but I'm not an assembly-expert and not a compiler guru,
but can you say, why the assembly code is not the same on PPC on Linux
and Mac OS X?
We had this problem with OpenOffice.org, that we had to port the
assembly code for PPC_Linux to MacOS X and we had to do some changes to
get this piece of code running on MacOS X.
I thought, that assembly is arch dependent and not OS dependent.
