static inline functions in fp-bit

Hi all,

I am using the fp-bit library to emulate floating point in my gcc port
to a 16-bit DSP. I am having problems with some of the functions. For
example, the multiply function uses a helper function called
fpmul_parts, which is a static inline function. The function is too big
to inline, so a function call is inserted instead. However, the function
body for fpmul_parts is never generated, so I get link failures. If I
remove the static keyword, everything works properly. Any ideas how I
can get around the problem, other than by going through the fp-bit.c
file and removing all the static keywords?

Thanks,

 Dan.
