Can't use '-a' option in gcc 3.1 (x86)

Hi,

I've sent this to gcc-gnats : c/7336.

Well, I'm not sure whether is a bug or my fault: I cant use '-a' option with 
gcc 3.1 but I used it in gcc 2.95.3  Is it a regression ? Gcc says 
unrecognized option '--a'
