gcc on AIX 4.3.3 - installation problem

I don't have specific timings, but my DELL laptop (500 MHz???) took at
least 4 hours to do a full boot.  The three phases of GCC aren't so
bad, but after that was all finished I spent a LONG time waiting for
libjava.
