I wish I could agree it's an exaggeration. I can't report successes,
because I have had exactly zero of them in perhaps 20 attempts over
the past 4 years and versions from 2.7.3 through 3.1. (I'm ignoring
one success, that one for a target supported only in an internal code
drop not yet integrated into the GCC mainstream.)
A lot of these were recent, as I tried many variations to attempt
--target=mips-netbsd --with-newlib on a Linux host. I posted a cry
for help on that some weeks ago, and while Zack did his best to help
out, I'm still stuck on that one, and I have heard nothing else. Is
there anyone here who has successfully executed such a crossbuild? If
so, I'd *love* to hear the magic words...
