GCC Installation Problem

Sirs,

pls. let me know, if this is not the correct address to report problems!

I am trying to install gcc-3.0.3 on an SGI Octane running IRIX 6.5.
(GNU-) make bootstrap completes without error (though lots of warnings!)
(GNU-) make install exits with the following messages:

/bin/sh: /usr/local/lib/gcc-lib/mips-sgi-irix6.5/3.0.3/lang-f77.com:
cannot create: No such file or directory
make[1]: *** [f77.install-common] Error 1
make[1]: Leaving directory `/usr/people/advise/GCC/obj_gcc/gcc'
make: *** [install-gcc] Error 2

What can I do?
