Template target

Hi,

When porting gcc to a new target, the docs advices to look at how other 
target are implemented. Are there a particular target (gcc/config/xxx) 
which will serve good as a reference/template for learning the 
structure, yet still being simple and implemented straight forward?

Where can I find the authorative list (with descriptions) of the macroes 
that must/can be defined in machine.h? I see they are listed in the gcc 
internals manual, but I persume it is taken from another authorative 
source. (And that the docs are not neccessarily kept in sync with the 
sources.)
