a question :)

I've got the following question:

I successfully compiled GCC-3.1 (Slackware 8.0, Glibc-2.2.3, Linux 2.4.18) and it works... until I try to compile Ncurses 5.2 and Vim 6.1
Everything else (I think) can be compiled (including Glibc-2.2.5 :) but it halts on Ncurses & Vim with something like:

O_CREAT, O_.... previously undefined

There's no such problem when I try GCC-2.95.3, is that a compatibility problem or I've messed something? (I configured GCC-3.1 with: --prefix=/usr --enable-languages=objc,c++ --disable-shared --disable-nls --enable-threads=posix; and compiled it with: make BOOT_LDFLAGS=-static bootstrap --> the instructions in LFS-BOOK-3.3 :)
