I know how to use cvs, thanks. :)

More generally, I know how I can recreate
the file I miss. It's just a problem for me currently, and for other people
as well probably.

Having yet another full gcc tree out takes time and space. 
Computing diffs through cvs is not that fast. Especially when such things 
happen precisely when you're on the move, and when you don't have a 
good network bandwidth...  In my case, this means I had to wait until I 
got back to a place where I have a decent bandwidth, three/four days delay, 
which is usually okay, but not that great when you're racing for a 
release, and you have to get the diffs downstream and wait for feedback.
